t a distance of about 12 Km. from the Sacred Monastery, a small
group of houses were built
around the castle Rocca S.Angelo. Nearby you can find the small
churchSanta Maria in Arce, with its
Monastery. Inside the church, dating back to 14th century, you
can admire some frescoes (Giotto's school),
a wooden crucifix attributed to the Master from Gubbio and an
altar piece by the Spagna.
Today the Monastery, after many restorations, has lost its original
form, but it still preserves a peculiar charm.
A Nuns' community has lived here for about 15 years; it is called
"Comunità Adveniat - Santa Maria in Arce"
and it was founded by a friar coming from the Sacred Monastery
in Assisi.
